Teddy is a 6 month old male Dachshund cross Yorkshire Terrier. Teddy is a gorgeous lad who has come into rescue as an unclaimed stray. He is, as you would imagine a little bundle of energy and would love a new home with owners who are around for most of the day and who will have the time to continue with his training to ensure he grows into a well mannered adult dog. As he is a stray older teenage children only please.
He is very full on with dogs that are smaller or of similar size to him, now he has been neutered this behaviour may lessen. He loves to play with other dogs but is relentless in his pursuit of a good game so any resident dogs will need to be very energetic and tolerant or secure and able to let Teddy know when his play instigation’s are too much for them.
Teddy Is a smart little lad and with some time invested in him he will become an amazing companion. He does pull on the lead, this is to be expected as he is young and everything is so exciting, his fosters are working on this with him but his new owners will need to be able to commit to continuing his training. He travels well in the car, he can sometimes be a little vocal but settles well in his crate. Teddy sleeps well in his crate at night and is clean.
Teddy can on occasion guard items he values, his foster is working on this with him and is rewarding positive behaviours. We will be happy to discuss this at length with any potential adopters – this is easily rectified with a little patience and training. He is doing well with his sit, wait etc and may well enjoy further training or possibly agility. He is currently on foster in Basingstoke Hampshire.
Teddy has been neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped and is up to date with flea and worming treatment.
