Zserbo is a small neutered male Cross-Breed, a suspected Dachshund cross (Shoulder height: 38 cm; Weight: 13 kg). He was roaming the streets with a fellow stray until he was reported to the local rescue who collected them. He currently lives with a family and four other dogs and he’s adapted nicely to his new environment.
Zserbo is a lovely funny boy who enjoys every minute of the positive change in his life. He is a lively happy boy who mingles well with the other dogs of the family. He is a velcro dog who loves being near you, loves attention and is always ready for a cuddle. He is generally friendly with people, although he can get slightly wary and protective around new people which manifests in him barking.
However, he has not shown aggression in any situations and he makes friends once he sees they mean no harm. He can get scared of sudden movements and he jumps backwards when fazed.
He is quite an active boy who mingles well with his doggie mates and likes running around with them playing a chase. He is also quite nosy and do not want to miss out on any happenings around him.
Zserbo is a clever boy and is a quick learner. He sits nicely for a treat and takes it gently from your hand. He also started learning how to play with toys and a ball. He still chews and jumps up for attention, this will improve with training.
He is house trained and travels nicely in the car. His new family will need to get him used to being taken on regular walks on/off lead as currently he’s not walked regularly.
Zserbo would be best suited in an adult only household where he is not left alone for long periods of time as he loves being around his humans. Children over 14 will be considered. His future family will need to be patient and continue his socialization and training. He will need to be given time to settle in his new home and to get used to his new environment gradually. He has a lovely cheeky personality and he could make a wonderful companion in the right family.
He would probably be happiest being the centre of attention of his family as the only dog, but he could also be happy living with another playful and well balanced dog as he is quite sociable.
As all rescue dogs, he will need time, patience, love and commitment from his adopting family to become a happy well-balanced dog.
Experience with rescue dogs is preferred. No first time owners please.
Zserbo is currently in Hungary and can travel to the UK as soon as the right family is found for him.
He comes neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, flea and tick treated, with an EU passport and DEFRA approved paperwork.
